Colour Profile: The Key to Perfect Colour Reproduction

A colour profile is a standardised description of a device’s colour reproduction characteristics. In the printing process, the correct colour profile ensures that your colours are reproduced as accurately as they appear on your screen.

Important Colour Profiles in Printing

  • RGB: Red, Green, Blue – mainly used for digital screens.
  • CMYK: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black – standard for print production.
  • ICC Profiles: International Color Consortium profiles that ensure consistent colour across devices.

Why Is a Colour Profile Important?

  • Consistency: Ensures colours look the same across all printed copies.
  • Quality: Optimal colour reproduction delivers professional print results.
  • Efficiency: Prevents colour deviations and costly reprints.

Colour Profiles for Our Newspaper Printing

If you want to print your newspaper in a small run, we recommend the FOGRA39 colour profile. For industrial-scale offset printing from 2,000 copies upwards, please use the following ICC profile: ISOnewspaper26v4.icc.
