Image resolution determines how sharp and detailed a picture appears in print. It is measured in DPI (Dots Per Inch). A higher resolution means more dots per inch, resulting in a clearer and finer image. For printing, a resolution of at least 300 DPI is generally recommended.
For our small-run newspaper and magazine printing, we recommend an image resolution of at least 145 dpi. Our automatic file check scans your PDF and shows you exactly where images with lower resolution are used. Please note that this is merely a recommendation and not a strict requirement for placing a print order. You can also order newspapers and magazines with lower-resolution images and still achieve an great-looking print result.
