Misregistration refers to unwanted white lines or streaks that can appear during printing. They typically occur at colour transitions or cut edges when print files are not precisely prepared or aligned. Especially along the page edges, misregistration can be avoided through bleed and trapping. Trapping means that colours and photos slightly extend beyond the final format.
While we produce our newspapers in small print runs using a layout frame (a fixed white margin), you can print your magazines right to the edge of the page. To avoid white streaks at the edges, you’ll need to add a 3 mm bleed and make sure your content (photos, graphics, colours, etc.) extends into this bleed area.
